PRE-SENTENCE INVESTIGATION
| In the Medina County Court of Common Pleas, Adult Probation Investigation Unit, referrals are received after a finding or plea of guilty on felony offenses has been determined. The comprehensive written pre-sentence report, with recommendations, includes synopses of defendant interviews, contact with law enforcement agencies and with victims of crimes, prior record history, social summaries and Senate Bill II checklists. Restitution and court ordered conditions of probation are evaluated for inclusion in the sentencing recommendations to the Common Pleas Court Sentencing Judge assigned to the case. |
| Victim Program: The probation department tries to assist victims of all types of crimes. The program provides referrals to a variety of services which include crisis intervention, emergency assistance, victim impact statements, and court support, when necessary. Of major importance is aiding victims with claims for reimbursement of expenses as a result of injury during a crime. |
